Verbier Festival 2016

Leonidas Kavakos returned to the Verbier Festival this summer, performing the Brahms Double Concerto with Alexander Buzlov as well as two recitals with artists including Daniil Trifonov, Yuja Wang and Gautier Capucon.

Leonidas joined Paavo Järvi and the Verbier Festival Orchestra on 1 August to perform the Brahms Double Concerto alongside Alexander Buzlov. The performance followed two chamber recitals: On 29 July, Kavakos performed Smetana Piano Trio with Daniil Trifonov and Gautier Capucon, and on 30 July he joined Yuja Wang, Martin Fröst, Gautier Capucon, Roman Simovic and Blythe Teh Engstroem for a performance of artók Contrasts, Brahms Piano Trio No.1 and Robert Schumann Piano Quintet in E-flat minor.
