Leonidas Kavakos’s Brahms concerto recording release & European tour

In October 2013, Leonidas Kavakos’s recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto is released as he embarks on a nine-concert European tour performing Brahms with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Riccardo Chailly.

Kavakos performs the concerto, along with the Brahms ‘Double’ Concerto, on tour with Chailly and the orchestra as part of its Brahms cycle, with concerts in Leipzig, Paris, London and Vienna.

The new album, recorded at the Gewandhaus in May 2013, establishes Kavakos as a concerto soloist for Decca Classics. It also features Bartók Rhapsodies and Brahms Hungarian Dances performed with pianist Péter Nagy.
