Leonidas Kavakos is invited to conduct and perform at Vienna Philharmonic Ball

Following the four-concert tour with the Vienna Philharmonic earlier this month, Leonidas Kavakos has been invited to conduct and perform with the orchestra at the annual Vienna Philharmonic Ball on Thursday 23 January.

This will be the first time in the history of the ball – which takes place annually in the Musikverein – that one artist takes up the role of both conductor and soloist. The evening before the ball, Kavakos will perform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. In a concert conducted by the orchestra’s Principal Conductor Vladimir Jurowski, Kavakos will play J.S. Bach Violin Concerto No.1 in A minor and Hartmann Concerto funebre.
